Summary
Intelligent systems are nature-inspired, mathematically sound and computationally intensive problem
solving tools and methodologies that have become extremely important for advancing the current trends
in information technology. Artificial intelligent systems currently utilize computers to emulate various
faculties of human intelligence and biological metaphors. They use a combination of symbolic and subsymbolic systems capable of evolving human cognitive skills and intelligence, not just systems capable of
doing things humans do not do well. In this paper, an intelligent system program (software) developed
with Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 evaluates student’s background knowledge on combinational logic
design, simulates a customized training module based on the student’s previous knowledge of the course
module and tests the student’s grasp of the course through feedback. The result will be useful to students
for better understanding of logic design, for lecturers and users of combinational logic for improved
system design.
